Connecting hardware
DirectorStudio can interact with a wide variety of different hardware devices to expand the your presentation for recording, streaming or live presentations. Creating, recording and presenting to your audience is the central purpose of DirectorStudio. Whether an educator, a podcaster or a businessperson, DirectorStudio can help you to get your message across to your audience. Connecting to an External monitor, Video Switchers, receiving HDMI or web cam input using Febon’s UVC, controlling HomeKit accessories or other hardware, the possibilities are only limited by the imagination. One word of caution, in most cases, compatibility is between the iPad and the hardware not DirectorStudio which simply connects as appropriate. Feel free to reach out to Odeon Software support with questions on compatibility but be sure to save your receipts if the hardware proves to be incompatible.
Below are sections that to gives insight into just some of the possibilities. Although various hardware products and manufacturers are mentioned the links and suggestions are met to help you to find the products and are not an endorsement.
External Displays
Connecting the iPad to an external display can be as simple as using a dongle to connect the USB C or lightning port to a monitor or projector. There are however many more options that the powerful iPad hardware can support.
Black Magic Design’s ATEM Mini Family of Switchers and other Third Party Switchers
The BlackMagic ATEM Mini Switchers have been a runaway hit with creators, podcasters and presenters. DirectorStudio can connect over your network to directly control many of the functions of the ATEM mini. Control of the switcher or macros can even be automatically executed as a part of the presentation.
Febon USB UVC webcam to iOS adapter & hdmi output
The ability to input an HDMI or Webcam video signal directly into DirectorStudio is revolutionary in enabling a focused approach to presenting to your audience. Whether the input is a web cam, a computer as a part of the presentation, iPhone or another iPad. Additionally the output from an ATEM Mini or an other switcher can reduce the need for additional hardware monitors.
HOMEKIT and Other Hardware
HomeKit light and switches are very popular for automating home, but it can also be a power add on for automating the presentation process.
