There are a wide variety of display types that are compatible with DirectorStudio. External display, portable monitors and projectors will all generally work. The key distinction is the display must support a 16:9 aspect ratio. Older 4:3 or ultra wide monitors are not supported. The best way to verify compatibility is to simply use a standard 1080p or 4K monitor or projector. These are the most popular types on the market today.
