Using Zoom with DirectorStudio

Zoom has become an essential part of both business and personal communication. DirectorStudio has limited integration with Zoom to enable presenting static slides for a presentation.

Key Capabilities

  • Join a Zoom Meeting using the Zoom Configuration dialog on the Monitor tab.

  • Enter meeting id and passcode for the meeting

  • Select Muting and Display Video option (iPad’s Front Camera)

  • Once joined share screen to present the static slides (camera and video are not available)

  • Include Zoom commands as Actions for Activity Slides and Command Buttons

In order to maximize the Zoom Capabilities consider using the following settings

  • Set the global value for Transitions to disabled (second button from the right on the playback toolbar)

  • If possible connect an external monitor to the iPad. When displaying your event select the Share Type of “External Monitor” (See image above). The Zoom output image quality matches the monitor.

  • PIP is available but the frame rate is very low. If PIP is selected for the camera output for Zoom is disabled. If UVC is available and selected of the PIP, the Zoom camera output is available.

  • Slides with video and audio will not play over Zoom, the video and audio will play only to an external monitor only

  • Use an Action Slide to setup the Zoom settings to ensure a smooth presentation.

Once a meeting is joined the option to share the screen is available

The video icon changed colors to match the Zoom meeting state

  • Blue - No Meeting in prgress

  • Yellow - connecting to meeting

  • Green - In a Meeting

  • Red - Sharing the event presentation
