Bible Activity

 

The Bible Verses Label Activity is very similar to the MultiPage Activity. The difference is instead of displaying custom text a preselected Bible Verse is displayed. To add a Bible Verses Label Activity to a Slide select Bible Verses Label from the Add Activity menu.

Once selected a dialog display with the following options:

  • Bible Version - Select the version of the Bible that the verses should be displayed from.

  • Duration - The amount of time each verse is to be displayed. selecting 0 allows manual advancement. See “Advancement Options” below for details.

  • Animation - The animation desired to transition between verses..

  • Clip Animation - the option to clip the animation with the Frame of the label (if applicable)

  • Speak Text - With the Bible Verses Activity it is possible to allow Siri to speak the verses. Simply toggle the Speak Verses to on. With that option selected, the text may be automatically advanced once the verse has been spoken. See “Advancement Options” below for details.

After tapping the “Next” button the dialog presents displaying a button for each book of the Bible. Choose the desired book by tapping on the button for the corresponding book.

With a book selected, select the desired chapter.

With a Bible version, book and a chapter selected, tap on a button to select the first verse to be displayed. If only a single verse is needed tap the “Select” button on the dialog’s navigation bar.

If you wish to have a range of verses, with the first verse selected, tap on a button to select the end verse to be displayed for a range. With the desired range selected, tap the “Select” button on the dialog’s navigation bar.

As with the other text labels it is possible to change the font to a predefined style or a custom font. If the option to have Siri speak the verses in the dialog was selected the additional options are available.

  • Spoken Volume - Slider that allows adjusting the relative volume of the spoken words. Only available when the “Speak Verses” switch is selected.

  • Test Speech - Allow hearing a preview of the currently selected verse. Only available when the “Speak Verses” switch is selected.

Advancement Options

The advancement of the Bible verses can be customized to meet your needs. A combination of the settings on the Advance Tab and the settings of the Bible Verses work together to give you a variety of options

  • On the Advance Tab Selecting Manual will always require the manual advancement to the next verse. You can still select to have Siri Speak the verse but the advancement to the next verse is manual.

  • On the Advance Tab Selecting Activity Completion will allow one the two options to occur

    • With Speak Text Selected each verse is spoken in its entirety and then the next verses is automatically advanced

    • If Speak Text not selected the duration value is used to auto advance the slide.

  • If Timed, Specific Time or Event Start is selected on the Advance Tab the duration value is used to auto advance the slide. This overrides the spoke value and even if the verse is being spoke the the spoke verse will be cut off at the duration value.

Changing the Background

Adding an Image is like adding any other activity, select Image from the Add Activity menu after tapping on the Add Activity button.

Select the image and position as you like. See the Image Activity Help for details

Blur is available to display a blurred version of the background, including an image to give a more abstract background.  In addition to omitting the blur (None), there are three levels on varying intensity.
